"Making entrepreneurship accessible to anyone with an idea." That summarizes what Dexla, an AI app builder, is all about. I joined Dexla as a no-code developer and a UX/UI designer when it only catered to low-code users who were more technically skilled than the average B2B business owner.
I was tasked with redesigning the company's platform to streamline the web app-building process. Collaborating with Ayowande, a UX designer, we achieved the company's goal. As a no-coder with basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, I brought a technical perspective throughout the design process to ensure the designs were user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and feasible for development.
Integrating AI into the onboarding process and canvas while simplifying technical terminology and workflows significantly accelerated web app development on Dexla’s platform. This enabled business owners to focus more on running their businesses and less on the complexities of building a web app
We solved the terminology simplification by consulting with stakeholders and developers to agree on certain terms. I led the creation of a well-structured design system. This served as a foundation that fostered collaboration and reduced inconsistencies
Before diving into redesigning, we were torn between using either Grid or Flex to simplify positioning components onto the canvas through the drag-and-drop process. While each approach had its advantages and drawbacks, we had to choose the solution that would best meet our target audience's needs.
